Why NOT? NO sugar, NO plastic, NO throwing away, NO ink.

Beelly honey jars and packaging

The Beelly approach

Why we say no

Our way of working starts with the bees and reaches all the way to the packaging. Every detail is a choice we care for.

  • 🍯 No added sugar in their diet We leave the bees the honey they need for their nourishment and use honey when they require supplemental feeding.
  • 📦 No plastic in shipping packaging We choose materials like paper, cardboard, and wood to pack and protect our jars.
  • 🌱 No toxic inks on labels The care we take in selecting materials also extends to our labels.
  • 🤲 No synthetic glues in packaging We are also mindful of the materials used to hold our packaging together.
First come the bees. Then the harvest. The care continues even after.

Origin and apiary work

Our honey

At the foot of Mount Beigua, on the hills of Celle Ligure, we practice stationary beekeeping. Our hives stay in the same area all year round, following the blooms that grow all around them.

We leave the colonies the honey they need for their nourishment and harvest what each season truly permits. When they require supplemental feeding, we use honey.

To care for our colonies, we use treatments that are permitted in organic beekeeping and wax sourced from organic supply chains.

We are not organically certified and our honey is not sold as organic. The use of these materials and treatments describes our practices and does not amount to a certification.

The result is small harvests linked to the territory and the vintage: honey whose scent and flavor can change with the blooms and the course of the season.

After the last spoonful

A jar to use again

When the honey is gone, the jar can continue to be a part of your daily life. Just clean it and find a new use.

Store

A container for small items, buttons, or other accessories.

Decorate

A small vase for flowers or a simple addition to your table.

Reuse

Give the glass a second life before recycling it.

From jar to earth

A label to plant

Our labels contain seeds of lavender or basil, depending on the batch. Check the information on your label and follow the planting instructions.

With the right conditions, new plants can grow from the paper. Germination depends on temperature, humidity, light, and care: every seed has its own timing.

Plant

Follow the instructions on the label and choose a suitable pot and potting soil.

Care for it

Lavender and basil have different needs. Adjust watering and position based on the plant.

Observe

Follow the growth, from the first sprouts to the new leaves.

When the flowers arrive

A little space for pollinators

Left to bloom, lavender and basil can provide food for bees and other pollinating insects. Even a pot can become a small opportunity to observe nature up close.

If you grow basil to harvest its leaves, you can let some of the plants bloom: it is during flowering that pollinators can visit their blossoms.

The pleasure of watching something grow

A scent on the balcony, new leaves, the first flower. Planting a label is a simple way to continue the story of the jar and take a moment for yourself.

Without extraordinary promises. Just the pleasure of planting, waiting, and discovering what grows.
